The last of the veggies from the field........

With a little help from some of our shareholders and the supervision of "farmer Judy" the last of the veggies were pulled from the field. Thanks guys for all your help.

We got one of our munchers!

No, Jodi really didn't get the buck but our Amish hunter did! She just helped him drag it from the woods and load it into her truck to get it checked in at a deer station. Monk shot him with a bow and arrow....good shot Monk.

Kaylee enjoying the morning with her favorite pet....

Kaylee loves her white chicken, and it seems that the chicken doesn't mind being held by her. I think she is thanking her for giving us some eggs!

We got EGGS!

Our girls finally started laying eggs.....much to our surprize they were brown. So I guess that means we are now offically eggs farmers too! Our new chicks should be arriving this week. We have ordered 25 chicks of various breeds that will lay all different colored eggs...from dark brown to blue and green. Is that going to be fun or what?

Installing the shade cloth....

This shade cloth will help keep the plants inside the greenhouses from heating up too much on these really hot days we have been having and also keep the cold crops like the lettuce from bolting again.

Cleveland Clinic Solon Farm Market

our first market day in Solon was a great success! Great people to work with....they all seem to love having us there! We also enjoy being there for them!

We're coloring up....

the season is upon us....our first farm market is tomorrow at the Solon Cleveland Clinic from 10-2pm.

Hope the Solon crowd likes color.

The crops are sruggling with the rain...

we have pulled a few plants that have rotted already with the heavy rains.....hopefully the sun tomorrow will dry out the fields and let us continue to plant.

Rain, Rain, go away......

come again another day!

Our rain gauge measured 1.4 inches in less then a 24 hour period! So much for their predictions of 3/4 of an inch!

Benefits of Blueberries

Did you know that blueberries rate the highest in capacity to destroy free radicals amongst the antioxidents? Other benefits of blueberries include improving night vision, and protecting against Macular Degeneration. They also help relieve constipation and can reduce inflammation in the digestive system. They promote urinary tract health just like cranberries.

You can plant this superfood in your yard and reap the benefits in just a few years. We've got plants available right here in Geauga County. Pick up your blueberry landscape bushes from Rock Valley Run this spring!

Edible landscape plants.....

This spring the greenhouse will be offering potted blueberries, raspberries and strawberry plants for sale. Blueberries make a great landscape plant that can give your family years of fruit production in your own yard.
